Candle DIY: Inspired by Bloom Acqua di Fiori

Candle DIY inspired by Bloom Acqua di Fiori

I absolutely love when spring is in full bloom. Birds are chirping, you’re surrounded by white and pastel pink coloured blossoms, and the scent of blooming flowers fills the air. London during the springtime is wonderful. One of the things I always look forward to is going on long walks or runs through the park. With all sorts of trees and the variety of flowers, it’s a treat for the nose. And makes the running more bearable!

Spring also calls for putting away the woody and gourmand wintery scents. It’s time for something more fresh and floral. Just like my perfumes, I like to switch up my candles too. With the current scent obsession being Gucci Bloom Acqua di Fiori, I wanted to create a DIY candle inspired by this perfume. I definitely dialled up the greenness factor and played with jasmine and white musk to bring roundness to the perfume. I used galbanum as the main green note and a little goes a very long way! It turned out to be only 2% of the fragrance composition but remains quite strong. If you love a fresh and green scent, then this DIY candle is for you!

What to Expect

Imagine a garden after the rain. The wetness of grass, drops of water dripping off dark green leaves, the earthy scent of soil… There’s a ray of sunshine that illuminates delicate flowers and ripe berries. This green portrait with pops of colour is what this candle smells like. A heady green note brought on by galbanum brushes against the sweet tartness of blackcurrant. A veil of jasmine and musk follows, interlacing with this fruity green heart to bring an illuminating softness.
