Candle DIY: Inspired by Mon Guerlain Eau de Toilette

Scented Candle

What makes Mon Guerlain Eau de Toilette so special? In my view, it’s the fusion of the juicy mandarin note with aromatic lavender. I absolutely love this combination and if you do as well I highly recommend to try out the dessert recipe in the last blog post. Continuing on this lavender-mandarin kick, today’s post will be a new scented DIY candle inspired by Mon Guerlain Eau de Toilette. Lavender and mandarin are quite summery ingredients on their own, but when paired with vanilla and sandalwood they make the perfect scent for an autumn evening in. After all, we’re getting closer and closer to sweater weather!

What to Expect

The scent of mandarin is definitely very present in this candle. It’s a soft and candied mandarin note that softens and balances out the lavender, all whilst maintaining a sparkling and joyful freshness. It’s a delightful little gourmand treat right from the start! Then we have the lavender. It isn’t too overpowering – you don’t get a spa massage vibe, rather the lavender retains a smooth and floral character. Whilst the scent appears to be very fresh and summery, there is certainly an element of warmth in the candle, brought about by vanilla and sandalwood. The combination of these ingredients create overall a creamy, warm and enveloping impression, perfect for this time of year.
